About

I'm a digital producer & freelance writer based in Charlotte.

I produce hyperlocal content for web at WCNC Charlotte, an Emmy, Peabody and Edward R. Murrow award-winning TEGNA Inc. station. I also produce content in a freelance capacity for numerous publications, operating under AJ's Pen, LLC.

A proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, I majored in communication studies and minored in writing, rhetoric and digital studies in 2021. I also earned a Master of Science degree in business management at UNC Charlotte's Belk College of Business in May 2022. During undergrad, I served as a staff writer and Arts & Entertainment Editor at Niner Times, UNC Charlotte's student-run newspaper.

As a storyteller, I aim to be transparent, captivating and progressive in every work I produce.

Digital Producer

As a digital content producer, I strive to produce captivating hyper-local web content for an award-winning TEGNA Inc. station. My day-to-day tasks include coordinating with anchors, TV producers on digital to television stories. They also include addressing social media needs, including social listening and scheduling content for our platforms.

Freelance Writer

My freelance work consists of pitching creative and progressive ideas for various publications, and producing pieces for public consumption. A few of my areas of expertise include lifestyle, entertainment, and business. I've produced stellar content for local and national publications such as QCity Metro, Rated R&B, Pride Magazine, among others. Pitch me an idea for your publication!

Content Creator

As a content creator, my talents stream into the realm of podcasting, visual media, and more. A few of my mainstays in this capacity include creating short-form vlogs for TikTok and Instagram, producing thoughtful social media content for other platforms, and more.
